You can follow any or all of the following procedures to make Netflix working again.

Method 1: Uninstall and reinstall Netflix, if you’re wondering how to update Netflix on a smart TV, in the best way possible

This will be your first job to try out if Netflix is not working on your smart TV. There can be many reasons why the current version of Netflix is not working – be it corrupt user data, cache or files. So, the most logical thing to do here is to uninstall and reinstall the Netflix app, so that it can update itself again. Just follow the below steps:

  • Turn on your TV and click on the Home button of your TV remote.
  • Proceed to then click on the Apps button on the screen, which will take you to all the installed applications.
  • Look out for the Options button, where you can select the Netflix app to uninstall.
  • Finally, tap on Uninstall or Delete, and the Netflix app will be removed from your Smart TV.
  • Now, it’s time to reinstall Netflix again, which you can do by clicking on the Home button again.
  • Next step would be head over to the app store or by using the search function, search for the Netflix app.
  • After finding the app with any of the above methods, proceed to reinstall the application again.
  • Finally, the fully updated version of Netflix will be installed on your system.

Method 2: Resetting your app centre if you’re thinking about how to reset Netflix

This method can be a bit tricky and time-consuming but will be worth it, if you can make Netflix work again. This procedure involves the removal of all applications from the TV system and then again reinstalling them all. This is quite like doing a hard reset on an Android or iOS device. You should follow the following steps:

  • First, you have to turn on your TV and hit the Menu or Home button on your TV remote.
  • Next thing you have to do is, select the Reset option which can be found on the TV menu.
  • Before doing any reset, the TV will ask you for your security pin. You can find the security pin for your particular smart TV in your TV manual, or you can contact the respective TV company’s Customer Care for assistance.
  • After entering the security pin, the reset process will start, and it will take some minutes to complete the whole procedure.
  • Finally, from the main menu select Netflix app again, and it will now hopefully set itself up and start again. You need to sign-in to your account again.

Method 3: Check your internet connection, if you are confused about how to get Netflix on tv working again

Failure to connect to the internet is also one of the many issues that can happen with Netflix not working on smart TV. It can be due to your ISP or Internet Service Provider not being able to provide you with the effective speed or bandwidth, or it can be due to the Netflix servers being down. Just try the following steps to get the problem sorted out:

  • Turn on your Tv and use your TV remote to get to the home screen.
  • From the home screen, launch any other app, other than Netflix that will need the internet connection. For example, you can start YouTube.
  • Check whether you can load up YouTube homepage, and also play videos from YouTube as well.
  • If it is working all fine, then it is a problem on the side of Netflix, and most probably the servers are down at that moment. You may have to wait for sometime to get the servers up and running. But, if even the YouTube app does not work, and you can play any videos from YouTube, then it’s a fault on the side of your ISP or Internet Service Provider. You can reset your WIFI router if you want, but the best thing would be to contact the Customer Care of your ISP.

Method 4: Restart your smart TV and (or) update your smart TV firmware

Restarting your device is very easy and one of the most effective ways to make sure that all your apps start working in the right manner again. Just switch off your smart TV and unplug the TV cable. Then put the wire back in the electric socket and turn on your smart TV again.

If you’re wondering about updating the current software or firmware version of your smart TV, then you need to follow this following procedure precisely:

  • Firstly, turn on your smart TV and head over to the home screen.
  • From the home screen, head over to the Menu Options or Settings.
  • In the Options or Settings, there should be an option to update your firmware. Mostly, it lies inside the General Settings tab.
  • See if there is any pending update for the smart TV firmware. Most smart TVs of today automatically update their firmware. If there is no awaiting update, then you’re good to go.
  • But, if there is any update pending, click on Update Firmware, and it will take some minutes to download and install the latest firmware.
  • After the firmware update, your smart TV will restart by itself. Or you can do it manually as well. This is very much recommended.
  • Hopefully, after the update, Netflix will start working again.
